Allow image uploading while commenting on WordPress blog
Updated On May 23, 2015 August 21, 2012 -Written ByWhat do we expect while adding a comment on WordPress powered blog? Well, a text comment – isn’t it? You can easily extend this commenting functionality by including image upload feature. As a result, users while adding text comment can upload related image and the uploaded image will display along with text comment. This sounds too geeky but can be easily implemented using “Comment Images” plugin.
Comment Images is a free WordPress plugin that allow your readers to attach an image to their comment. After installing this plugin, under the comment box you will see “Choose file” button. Click on it to select and then upload image of your choice while commenting. This plugin support uploading of images of popular formats including: Supports PNG, GIF, JPG and JPEG.
This for sure is pretty neat plugin to increase user interactivity on WordPress powered blogs. It is ideal for LOLs, fun images, celeb photo type of blogs where users can contribute to existing collection by uploading images via comment form. With all the goodness, it does have one limitation – it only works with default WordPress comment form as of now. It wont work with Facebook comments form, jetpack comments, intense debate and disqus. Tom Mcfarlin for sure has wiped up interesting and useful plugin for WordPress users.
Great tip. Any idea how the uploaded images are handled? What about the load on WP site?
